2. PF/SF Torrey Craig
Depending on how much money Torrey Craig is going to be worth this offseason, it may be in the Knicks’ best interest to go after him. Even if he makes more than expected, he won’t break the bank. Honestly, Craig and Lyles will likely receive similar contracts money-wise this offseason.
In 2022-23, Craig averaged 7.4 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 45.6% from the field and 39.5% from three on 3.2 attempts.
Craig provides versatile defensive prowess, something the Knicks could use off the bench. He is the kind of role player any team would love to have. This could make it difficult to pry him away from the Suns or give him a competitive offer compared to teams with more cap space. New York could always work out a sign-and-trade deal with Phoenix to acquire the 32-year-old.
Regardless of what other moves the Knicks make this offseason, Craig would easily be able to fill in off the bench with ease. The type of basketball he’d bring to the table is something that could help elevate New York to another level defensively.
