1. Quentin Grimes

Similar to everyone else on this list, fans would hate to see Quentin Grimes go, but if the Knicks are in the running for a star Grimes may be a necessary sacrifice. The two-way presence Grimes brings is valuable, but also replaceable with how common his playstyle is becoming.

You can’t replace Grimes’ youth and versatility, but if New York can get a star the front office will have to figure something out. This season, Grimes averaged 11.3 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game while shooting 46.8% from the field and 38.6% from deep on 5.7 attempts. In addition to this, Grimes was also one of the Knicks’ best perimeter defenders, arguably second best behind Quickley.

The type of basketball Grimes plays is something that every team could use, which will help make his trade value much higher than other players his age who put up similar numbers.

With players like Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, and Karl-Anthony Towns potentially being made available this offseason, New York may want to capitalize on the window and assets it has. These players aren’t going to get any younger and teams in the league are only getting better so fans could see Rose pull some crazy stuff out of his bag to improve the Knicks.
