The New York Knicks’ offseason just began, but the rumors have been swirling around for a few weeks now. Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets’ future is unclear after they were swept by the Sixers in the first round. Brooklyn should have a much quieter offseason this year after last offseason included a Kevin Durant trade request and questions about Kyrie Irving’s player option.
The Nets managed to get a couple of good players back in the Durant and Irving trades, namely Mikal Bridges, but the fact that the organization traded KD, Kyrie, and James Harden all within one year after not winning a championship should never be forgotten.
Brooklyn’s back in its usual position of trying to gain some sort of relevancy, which includes a ’38 At The Garden’ showing this weekend at Barclays Center. Yes, a film about Linsanity is being shown at the Nets’ homecourt.
Join us for a special screening of '38 At The Garden' - a film that showcases Jeremy Lin’s 2012 NBA season.

Barclays Center showing film about Jeremy Lin’s 38-point game for Knicks
Imagine if roles were reversed and Madison Square Garden was hosting a screening of a film centered around Linsanity if it instead would’ve happened when Jeremy Lin was on the Nets. Lin did spend some time in Brooklyn from 2016-2018, but it’s still head-scratching that Barclays Center is hosting not only a screening but a Q&A after with the filmmakers.

Nets governor Joe Tsai gave a rebuttal on Twitter by saying that “MSG refused to show it.” Tsai made it seem as if the Knicks haven’t promoted the film, which isn’t true.
The #Knicks organization has done a lot for the film including hosting multiple events last spring! Chill…. https://t.co/DYIoecloNM

The Nets are already back to being the lesser team in New York and showing a film about a former Knicks player’s miraculous moment at MSG isn’t doing Brooklyn any favors. There are several Nets fans in the Twitter replies that have already expressed their displeasure. At least Knicks fans have gotten some amusement out of the screening.
If you’re a Knicks fan that hasn’t seen the film yet, it’s one that’s worth watching, just maybe not at Barclays Center this weekend.
