There’s one official that NBA fans typically dread to see on the court, but for New York Knicks fans, that official could actually wind up being the team’s unlikely lucky charm. New York has yet to pick up a win in Miami during the Eastern Conference Semifinals, but that could change on Friday night.

Get ready because the Scott Foster Show is on deck as he’s the lead official for Game 6. As hard as it may be to believe, his presence might be enough to help the Knicks. Foster has officiated one New York-Miami game in the playoffs, which was the Knicks’ 111-105 win in Game 2. He surely wasn’t the reason why New York won that game, but his track record with Miami doesn’t look too good.

The Heat are 0-10 in their last 10 games where Foster was part of the officiating crew. If that streak continues in a Game 6 loss for Miami, the series will return to MSG for Game 7.

Scott Foster could be the Knicks’ unlikely hero in Game 6 against Heat

The world would be coming to an end if Scott Foster was blatantly making calls in New York’s favor on Friday. He’s one of the most despised officials in the league for a reason, but there’s clearly some truth behind that streak. The Heat wouldn’t have lost 10 straight games with him officiating if that weren’t the case.

If the Knicks come out as flat as they did in Games 3 and 4 in Miami, it won’t matter who’s officiating. Not even Foster’s absurd calls could be enough to save New York’s season. But then again, people don’t call Foster “The Extender” for nothing.

The Heat had a chance to end the series with a Game 5 win on Wednesday, but Jalen Brunson’s 38 points prevented that. Now Miami will have to deal with Brunson and Foster. In all honestly, the result of Game 6 isn’t going to be decided by Foster, but it is a bad omen for the Heat.

Will Playoff Jimmy be able to rise to the challenge and snap the Scott Foster-Heat curse? For the sake of the Knicks’ season, let’s hope not.
