Knicks vs Heat injury report for Game 2 playoffs: Is Julius Randle playing?
As if Sunday’s loss wasn’t bad enough, New York Knicks fans learned on Monday that not only is Julius Randle’s status for Game 2 uncertain but Jalen Brunson’s is, too. Randle sprained his left ankle (again) in Game 5 on Wednesday and went through a pregame warmup on Sunday before being ruled out.
Brunson hasn’t missed a playoff game and is averaging 24.2 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.3 rebounds in the postseason. He was the best player on the floor in round one, so it goes without saying that if New York will be without him and Randle, the Knicks’ offense will struggle.
The Heat are dealing with an injury of their own after Jimmy Butler hurt his right ankle with five minutes left to play in Game 1. He stayed on the court but was limping. After the game, he said that his ankle felt like “a rolled ankle.” Erik Spoelstra said on Monday that Butler was doing treatment around the clock.
