After a rowdy Friday night at Madison Square Garden that resulted in a 99-79 New York Knicks win in Game 3, the team will be back in action in front of their home crowd on Sunday afternoon. This is the first time during the first-round playoff series that the Knicks and Cavaliers have had one full day in between games rather than two.

Amid New York’s rout over Cleveland, the Knicks lost one of their starters at the beginning of the second half. It was reported that Quentin Grimes was questionable to return with a shoulder injury after halftime, but he didn’t play.

On Saturday, Tom Thibodeau did say that Grimes was feeling better. The good news is that the injury doesn’t sound serious at all, which is good news for Knicks fans.

Is Quentin Grimes playing vs Cavaliers?

Quentin Grimes (contused right shoulder) was listed as questionable, but he’s been downgraded to out. New York’s next game will be on Wednesday in Cleveland, so hopefully the extra days off will benefit Grimes.

Quentin Grimes (shoulder) and Jericho Sims (sore right shoulder) are out. Sims was out for Game 3 as well.

Full Cavaliers injury report vs Knicks

Dylan Windler (foot) is out for Game 4 after missing Games 1-3.

Knicks projected starting lineup vs Cavaliers

Because Quentin Grimes is out, here’s what the Knicks’ starting lineup will look like:

  • Jalen Brunson
  • Josh Hart
  • RJ Barrett
  • Julius Randle
  • Mitchell Robinson

That’s the lineup that New York went with to start the second half of Game 3 after it was announced that Grimes was questionable to return.

Knicks’ upcoming games and playoff schedule

New York will return to Cleveland for Game 5. If the Knicks win on Sunday in Game 4, Games 6 and 7 will only be if necessary.
