When the Knicks originally signed Jalen Brunson to his four-year $104 million contract, they were met with heavy criticism by people who didn’t believe in his potential. Despite this, Brunson has proved all the doubters wrong and was not only arguably the Knicks’ best player during the regular season, but has already been one of the best point guards the team has ever seen.

In 68 regular season games, Brunson averaged 24.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 6.2 assists while shooting 49.1% from the field and 41.6% from beyond the arc on 4.7 attempts. The offensive consistency Brunson has brought to the table this season is something the Knicks desperately needed.

One of the biggest problems the Knicks have dealt with over the last three seasons was a lack of any offensive consistency from anyone on the team. However, Brunson is finally the player to be that guy and has stepped up when New York has needed him the most.

In addition to this, Brunson has been one of the most clutch players in the NBA this season, even being nominated for the Clutch Player of the Year award. This is another thing the Knicks have needed, a closer.

Brunson has done an incredible job at coming in and fixing all of the major issues the Knicks have had in recent seasons offensively. Shoutout to Leon Rose for being smart enough to take a gamble on Brunson’s upside as a team’s number one offensive option.
