After a disappointing 2021-22 season, New York Knicks fans get to look forward to watching their favorite team take the court in the 2023 NBA playoffs. The Knicks will be in Cleveland on Saturday for Game 1 of what should be one of the best first-round matchups.
Eight teams from each conference will fight for their chance to advance to the second round, where four teams from each conference will compete in the conference semifinals. New York hasn’t made it to the second round since the 2012-13 season, and before that, the 1999-2000 season.
The No. 7 and No. 8 seeds for each conference will be determined by the NBA play-in tournament, which begins on Tuesday, April 11, and will end on Friday, April 14. The No. 7 seed will face the No. 2 seed in the conference and the No. 8 seed will face the No. 1 seed.
Let’s take a look at each first-round series for the East and West.

- No. 2 Celtics vs. No. 7 Hawks
