Following the New York Knicks’ final game of the season against the Indiana Pacers, it’s now time for the playoffs. However, this can’t stop fans from celebrating just how incredible of a season New York and its players have had.

Many players have had career years, records have been broken, and the Knicks have made the playoffs for the second time in three seasons, emerging as one of the top teams in the entire league.

One feat that was accomplished this season came from Knicks’ backup center Isaiah Hartenstein, who, alongside having a great season, accomplished something that only 9 other players in the NBA were able to do in 2022-23.

Knicks’ Isaiah Harteinstein is one of 10 players to play all 82 games this season

I believe the old saying goes, “The best ability is availability.” There are certainly no doubts that Harteinstein has been available this season. This becomes even more important once you remember that Mitchell Robinson played in only 58 regular season games.

Whether it be the few games he’s started or all the games he’s come off the bench, Hartenstein has been a huge factor in the Knicks’ success this season despite the slow start he had in the first months of the season.

In all 82 regular season games, Hartenstein averaged 4.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.2 assists while shooting 53.4% from the field. The versatility Harteinstein has brought on both sides of the ball is something New York has not seen out of a center in quite some time.

Playing all 82 games in a season is incredibly difficult to do and once you see the other players who accomplished the same thing, you begin to see a common theme. Those who played all 82 are:

  • Mikal Bridges
  • Nikola Vucevic
  • Harrison Barnes
  • Jordan Poole
  • Tari Eason
  • Derrick White
  • Kevon Looney
  • Patrick Williams
  • Kenyon Martin Jr.
  • Isaiah Hartenstein

Most of these players are either consistent veterans or defensive-oriented role players. Harteinstein fits in pretty smoothly with this crowd and fans should be incredibly happy to see him accomplish this feat.
