Since playing for the Knicks in 2019-20, Bobby Portis has not only emerged as a key bench player for Milwaukee but he’s won a ring, too.

He’s a leading candidate to win the Sixth Man of the Year Award and could add another ring to his collection in a couple of months. This season, Portis is averaging 14.1 points, a career-high 9.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 26.1 minutes.

Portis was part of the New York squad that finished with a dismal 21-45 record. He averaged 10.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 66 games that season. The Knicks signed him to a two-year, $31 million contract ahead of the 2019-20 season and declined his team option shortly after the season ended to open up cap space. It was thought that New York was going to try to bring Portis back, but he signed with Milwaukee instead.

Last summer, Portis trolled the Knicks by saying that if he could go back to one of his former teams, it would be New York. He followed that up by saying that it was actually the “most miserable” year of his career.

That’s Bobby Portis for you.
