Similar to Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee’s Wesley Matthews played in only two games during his stint in New York. Matthews went to the Knicks as part of the Kristaps Porzingis trade in 2019.

A little over a week after being traded to New York, Matthews was sent to Indiana ahead of the trade deadline. Since then, he’s played for the Bucks, Lakers, and the Bucks again. The 36-year-old has played in 50 games for Milwaukee this season but is averaging only 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds.

Matthews might not get a lot of playing time in his 14th season, but his defense on DeMar DeRozan on Wednesday helped Milwaukee get the 105-92 win over Chicago. DeRozan shot 3-of-12 from the floor for eight points. Matthews won’t play a large role for the Bucks in the playoffs, but he’s viewed as one of the team’s valuable veterans that’s ready to jump in and help out when he’s needed.

Knicks fans might’ve forgotten that Matthews played for New York, but to be fair, Matthews might’ve forgotten, too.
