5 of the biggest “what ifs” in New York Knicks history
What if the Miami Big 3 chose New York instead of the Heat?
Now upon first reading, this may sound a little crazy, however, LeBron James did go on record to say that New York was one of the teams he, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh were considering in that fateful offseason.
According to multiple reports both at the time and in recent seasons, it seems as if LeBron was strongly considering New York in 2010, with some even stating that the Knicks were his number one choice until a disastrous meeting with the team derailed the chances of him playing in MSG.
While some may hate LeBron, there’s no way that people could dislike the thought of him, Wade, AND Bosh playing for the Knicks. The Heat didn’t surround them with all that much yet they managed to squeeze out two championships in four seasons, so we can only imagine how they would have looked with a better Knicks supporting cast.
In addition to this, the Knicks very well could have traded for yet another superstar, potentially even Anthony himself, using the same assets they used on his trade from the Nuggets for either Anthony or another big-time name.
Not only would this scenario completely change the course of Knicks history, but the league as a whole would be much different if James Dolan didn’t do a horrible job during his meeting with James and his representatives.
