The red-hot New York Knicks will look to win their seventh straight game on Wednesday night against their crosstown rival. The Nets have lost three straight games and are on the second half of a back-to-back after coming up short against the Bucks on Tuesday.

The Knicks got a huge boost after the All-Star break with Mitchell Robinson’s return to the lineup after he fractured his thumb on Jan. 18. He didn’t play in the Knicks’ 124-106 win over the Nets on Feb. 13, but he’ll be on the floor in what fans hope will be New York’s second straight win over Brooklyn this season.

The Knicks’ win over the Celtics on Monday knocked the Nets down a spot in the Eastern Conference standings. New York is now the No. 5 seed and Brooklyn is No. 6. If the season ended today, both teams would secure a playoff berth. However, with no Kevin Durant or Kyrie Irving, the Nets are expected to continue to slide down the standings.

Ben Simmons injury status tonight vs Knicks

Ben Simmons (left knee soreness) hasn’t played since before the All-Star break on Feb. 15 and has played in only 42 games this season.

In the Nets’ loss to the Bulls on Friday, Simmons said his knee was going to be reevaluated in “about a week.” He missed Brooklyn’s game against Milwaukee on Tuesday night and will be out for the Nets’ game against the Knicks on Wednesday.
