EDITOR’S NOTE: Bryn Forbes, who is one of the players elaborated upon in this article, was arrested on Wednesday, hours after this article was published, for allegedly assaulting a woman. He should no longer be considered a buyout option for the Knicks due to the serious nature of the allegations.

After trading Cam Reddish, Svi Myhailiuk (who is now on the Hornets), and Ryan Arcidiacono to the Trail Blazers in exchange for Josh Hart, the New York Knicks have two roster spots open. Now that the trade deadline has passed, it’s time to look at the buyout market.

There’s a list of players that are expected to be bought out, with Russell Westbrook being the most notable name after he was part of the Lakers-Jazz trade. The Clippers and Heat have been linked to the former MVP. Most buyout players are looking to join a contender (several already have), but that doesn’t mean that the Knicks are out of luck.

2 players Knicks could sign in buyout market to fill roster spots

For the Knicks, there are two players in particular that the organization could pursue after they agree to a buyout with their current teams. New York is No. 7 in the East, only a half-game back from Miami. With the team’s sights set on making it back to the playoffs for the second time in three seasons, these two players could help the Knicks make a push in the postseason with their championship experience.
