After the New York Knicks social team included RJ Barrett in the starting five graphic for Sunday night’s nationally televised game against the Sixers, he was a late scratch due to a non-COVID illness. Because of the timing of it, though, fans started to speculate about whether Barrett was going to be traded or not with the deadline being only days away.
SNY’s Ian Begley reported that Barrett “hadn’t felt well for most of the day” and that before introductions, “the illness returned and he left the floor.” New York went on to upset Philadelphia, 108-97, after being down by as many as 20 points in the first half.
