A little over three weeks are remaining until the NBA trade deadline, meaning that the rumors are going to start ramping up. With the New York Knicks sitting at No. 6 in the Eastern Conference in a playoff spot, there’s a variety of moves that the front office could make.

It’s been nearly three weeks since Derrick Rose last played in a game, which will likely end up as his final contest as a Knick. Rumors surrounding his future have been flying around for a few weeks now, and as expected, New York wants to part with Rose on a good note.

According to Marc Stein (subscription required), “Sources say that New York is open to finding a new home via trade for former MVP Derrick Rose but only if it can, as one insider put it, ‘do right by’ the longtime Thibodeau favorite.” It’s worth noting that Rose has been linked to the Mavericks.

As for players that the Knicks are reportedly interested in, Alex Caruso’s name has popped up. According to NBC Sports Chicago’s K.C. Johnson, Caruso would be “a plug-and-play reserve – and closer – for virtually any contender or team serious about making a playoff push.” Johnson mentioned that the Warriors and Knicks have been linked to Caruso and that the Bulls would likely be looking for a young player and pick in return for Caruso.
