On Monday night, it seemed as if the New York Knicks were going to extend their win streak to five by knocking off the Bucks for the first time this season. Instead, Milwaukee climbed back from a double-digit deficit to win, 111-107.

Jalen Brunson’s career-high 44 points (15-of-30), seven rebounds, and four assists weren’t enough for the Knicks to beat the Bucks at the Garden for the first time since 2020. If fans have learned one thing, it’s that New York never has a safe lead. If Tom Thibodeau and the Knicks could figure out how to close a game, New York might have something.

Now that it’s Jan. 10, the trade deadline is officially less than a month away. The Knicks will host the Pacers on Wednesday, a team that’s been connected to Obi Toppin. He’s fresh off his first game since Dec. 7 after playing in eight minutes of New York’s loss.

Will the Knicks be buyers or sellers ahead of the deadline?
