The New York Knicks (22-18) are back in the city and will host Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks (25-14) on Monday night. The latest odds favor the No. 3 team in the Eastern Conference.

Although New York is 0-2 against Milwaukee this season, the Bucks need to not overlook the Knicks as they are on a four-game win streak. New York had a big 112-108 win over its division rival in Toronto on Friday night, marking the first time since 2015 that the Knicks beat the Raptors on the road.

Meanwhile, Milwaukee was surprisingly blown out by the lowly Hornets in Charlotte on Friday night by a score of 138-109. Yes, Giannis played, but he finished with only nine points and four rebounds in 22 minutes. In the two previous games against New York this year, Giannis combined for 67 points.

The Knicks haven’t beaten the Bucks at the Garden since Dec. 27, 2020. A win against Milwaukee would be huge for New York as the team looks to build on its current win streak.

The latest odds from FanDuel Sportsbook have the Bucks as -1 favorite with the team -110 to cover. Milwaukee is -116 on the moneyline and New York is -102. The over/under is set for 221 points.

RJ Barrett (finger) is out. Khris Middleton (knee) and Serge Ibaka (personal reasons) are out for the Bucks.

New York Knicks vs. Milwaukee Bucks Prediction

It’s hard to believe that Milwaukee will play near as poorly as it did against Charlotte on Friday, but nonetheless, this is a winnable game for New York. In the teams’ last matchup on Nov. 30, the Knicks lost by only six, 109-103.

The biggest challenge for New York will of course be to find a way to try to contain Antetokounmpo. It will be imperative for Mitchell Robinson to not get into foul trouble early on as Giannis averages 13.2 attempts per game. If Robinson does find himself in foul trouble, Tom Thibodeau needs to give Jericho Sims minutes over Isaiah Hartenstein so that the team won’t get crushed on the boards.

If the Knicks do manage to hold a lead for the majority of the game, the team will need to find a way to close the game out better than they have in recent contests. I’m going to take the under and I predict that Julius Randle will lead the Knicks to their fifth straight victory.
