Be a playmaker

It’s clear the front office expects Barrett to be their guy as they went all in on him in the offseason. Is it safe to say the front office sees him as a Ja Morant or Zion Williamson? Or even a Tyler Herro or Kevin Porter Jr.?

These guys are playmakers and that just doesn’t mean scorers. They make the right pass, take the best shot, make clutch shots, and can defend when the game is on the line. Barrett needs to be more of a playmaker.

We know Jalen Brunson is at the helm of the offense running the operation and Julius Randle is the star that does the bulk of the scoring while being a force in the paint. Where does that leave RJ? To be the guy that can do a bit of everything. Like Jaylen Brown, CJ McCollum, and DeMar DeRozan, they are looked at to make the team better when they are on the floor, and not just by scoring.

If RJ Barrett can do this, not only will his career improve, but the Knicks will be in a better state.
