2: Jalen Brunson continues to show why he is worth every penny

In yet another amazing showcase of talent, Jalen Brunson showed yet again why the Knicks made the right decision to pay him so much money. The Knicks have been without an All-Star level PG for so long and it seems as if they finally have their guy.

Brunson dropped 27 points, three rebounds, and three assists while shooting 11-of-21 from the field and 2-of-4 from three. He may not have been the best defensively, but that is not what New York pays him to do.

Overall, Brunson is averaging 19.6 points, 6.8 assists, and 3.7 rebounds while shooting 47.7% from the field and 29.7% from three on four attempts per game. While Brunson’s three-point shooting may be disappointing, he is doing just about everything else on offense at an elite level.

For example, Brunson’s playmaking this season has been everything the Knicks have wanted and more, as he is averaging 6.8 assists to only 1.8 turnovers per game. Considering how poor New York’s starters have played at times this season, the assists number doesn’t fully showcase how good of a passer he has been.

Considering how poor the Knicks point guards have been over the last 10 years, Brunson is worthy of his own little reward for simply being a great NBA player at PG for the Knicks.

As the season goes on, Brunson will likely only continue to prove just how good of a player he is, shutting down any of the questions surrounding the money he is being paid.
