2: Evan Fournier

I want to say that I’m not surprised by this, but I’m really not. Evan Fournier has been awful this season and it’s about time that Tom Thibodeau finally pulled him from the rotation.

Not only has Fournier been a complete liability defensively, but his shots haven’t even been falling, making for a practically useless player when he is on the floor.

On the season, Fournier is averaging 6.9 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game while shooting 34.4% from the field and 33.3% from three.

Last season, the only redeeming quality about Fournier’s game was that he was one of the best three-point shooters in the league, shooting 38.9% from behind the arc on 7.7 attempts per game. However, considering his 33.3% clip this season on 4.4 attempts per game, I think it’s safe to say he doesn’t play a role on this team anymore.

In a similar fashion to Rose, a trade could possibly be in the future for Fournier. Honestly, it is a lot more likely that we see Fournier shipped off before Rose, as there were already plenty of trade rumors before his disappointing play.

Fournier could be of some value to a contending team that will not need him to play big minutes, especially if he can regain his shot. Regardless, he has no room on the Knicks anymore, as Grimes already does everything Fournier can and more.
