The New York Knicks will play at home against Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday at noon.

The Knicks stand at 6-6 after their win against the Detroit Pistons on Friday night and will look to continue their win streak. The Oklahoma City Thunder are 5-7 with only one win on the road.

The Knicks will look to dominate the boards against the young Thunder squad as their best rebounder is their starting shooting guard, Josh Giddey. Julius Randle and the rest of the frontcourt should be able to rebound pretty well. It may not be a bad idea to take the over on rebounds for Randle if you are utilizing the parlays.

The Knicks will look to slow down Shai Gilgeous-Alexander as he is the focal part of their offense. He leads the team in points, assists, steals, and blocks with the highest usage rate by far (32.1%) on the team. Stopping SGA will be key for the Knicks to win this game. New York will have plenty of defensive bodies to throw at SGA in Jalen Brunson, Quentin Grimes, and Immanuel Quickley. The Thunder’s offensive rating goes up +10.2 when SGA is on the floor, compared to when he’s on the bench. He gives a positive in all aspects across the board besides the team assist percentage.

The Thunder do fare better on the defensive end. The Knicks will need to look to get into the paint as the Thunder’s defensive prowess comes from their perimeter defense and the ability to switch.

New York Knicks vs Oklahoma City Thunder Prediction

The Knicks are pretty set in the middle in terms of their offensive and defensive rating in regard to the league while the Thunder are on the bottom offensively and high defensively. If the Knicks can get Randle going in the paint, they should be able to come out with a win. I predict a close game with a win by the New York Knicks.
