The New York Knicks will host the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night at the world’s most famous arena in what feels like a statement game for both teams.

The Knicks are a somewhat predicted 3-3 to start the year after beating three subpar teams and losing to three bona fide playoff teams. While the Knicks were in a position to win games against Memphis and Cleveland, they ultimately fell short as they were unable to keep up with Ja Morant and Donovan Mitchell’s heroic late-game efforts.

After all these years, it looks like the Knicks have finally found their point guard in Jalen Brunson, and Julius Randle appears to be having a bounce-back season. However, we are still waiting to see RJ Barrett really have that ‘I’m worth the $120 million deal’ performance, and I would be lying if I said that I was not frustrated.

The Hawks are 4-3 and the new Atlanta backcourt is looking strong. Trae Young is averaging 29 points and 9.7 assists while Dejounte Murray is averaging 20 points, 7.6 assists, and 6.1 rebounds per game. Will these guys be too much for New York to handle?

Atlanta is on a two-game losing streak after falling to a Toronto Raptors team that was missing Fred VanVleet. Look for the Hawks to try and take out their frustration against the Knicks, as we know how much Trae Young loves to play against New York.

New York Knicks vs Atlanta Hawks Prediction

Both teams will be looking to end their frustrations and come out with a win. With that being said, I expect a close game up until the final whistle, but with the New York Knicks finishing on top with a win.

I am going to keep a close eye on the point guard battle tonight between Jalen Brunson and Trae Young. Neither one is known for their defense, so I am predicting them to go at each other all night on the offensive end.

I do think this game will hit the over as New York has been woeful guarding the perimeter and Trae Young loves to shoot from behind the arc. I’ll be taking the Knicks moneyline and the over.

New York 117, Atlanta 111
