After winning their first regular season game on Friday, the New York Knicks (1-1) will host the Orlando Magic (0-3) on Monday. The latest odds favor New York in what should be the team’s second victory of the season.

The Magic are searching for their first win after losing to the Pistons, Hawks, and Celtics. On Saturday, Orlando lost to Boston by six, 126-120. All five starters scored in double figures, with Terrence Ross leading the way with 29 points (11-of-16). Rookie Paolo Banchero was the team’s second-leading scorer with 23 points (6-of-19), five rebounds, and three assists.

The Knicks are coming off a dominant 130-106 win over the Pistons. Immanuel Quickley led New York with 20 points (8-of-14) and RJ Barrett led the starters with 18 points (8-of-15).

By no means should New York overlook Orlando even though the team finished at the bottom of the conference last season. The Magic might have the eventual ROY on their roster in Banchero, who is averaging 23.3 points in his first three contests. The last thing that the Knicks should want is for Banchero to set the Garden on fire.

New York needs to carry over the momentum from Friday night, especially the bench. The Knicks’ depth will be key to their success this year and they showed why against the Pistons. Expect to see New York keep things going with a win on Monday night.
