Knicks Game Tonight: Knicks vs. Pistons Odds, Starting Lineup, Injury Report, Predictions, TV Channel for Oct. 4
After what was an exceptionally long offseason full of rumors, the New York Knicks will finally play basketball again on Tuesday night. The Knicks weren’t able to land Donovan Mitchell during the offseason, but there’s still plenty to look forward to with New York’s young roster.
Before the Knicks’ home-opener against the Pistons on Oct. 21, New York will host Detroit in its first preseason game. Detroit had a successful 2022 draft, which included selecting Jaden Ivey and trading for Jalen Duren. A couple of weeks ago, the Pistons capped off their offseason by trading for Bojan Bogdanovic.
Like New York, Detroit isn’t one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, but the two sides could end up competing for a play-in tournament spot at the end of the season. Before that discussion starts, though, the Knicks will have a chance to get a peek at what the Pistons are about in the preseason at Madison Square Garden.

New York Knicks vs. Detroit Pistons prediction
There’s no way of knowing what the Knicks or Pistons are going to look like in their first preseason outing, but this is a game that New York should win. The defense should be much improved from what it was last season.
The Knicks have a solid second unit that includes Immanuel Quickley, Obi Toppin, and Isaiah Hartenstein which should help propel them to a win.
