1: Is Tom Thibodeau going to prioritize the Knicks’ youth?

This is something that fans have been calling for, and with New York not acquiring Mitchell, fans want to see the Knicks’ younger players receive more time on the court. There’s Quentin Grimes, who, as mentioned, should be in the starting lineup, but what about other players such as Obi Toppin and Immanuel Quickley?

Outside of Randle’s issues last season, a large part of the reason why fans want to see him gone is so that Toppin will be allowed to slide into the starting lineup. During the 24-year-old’s first two seasons in the league, he was overshadowed by Randle, but at the end of the 2021-22 season, Toppin proved that he deserves more time on the court.

According to reports, Quickley is going to receive an increased role this season, and like Toppin, he put on a show at the end of the year. If that proves to be true, the Knicks would greatly benefit. However, many still have reservations about Tom Thibodeau, especially after he opted to put Alec Burks at point guard over Quickley last season, but for now, it seems as if New York is trending in the right direction.

In case it isn’t clear: Play the kids! The Knicks aren’t going to sit atop the Eastern Conference, and will likely end up fighting for a spot in the play-in tournament, so there’s no harm in giving some of the team’s younger players more run. After all, playing time is a key part of development. Don’t let us down (again), Tom.
