7. New York Knicks at Brooklyn Nets (Jan. 28)

The New York City rivals play four times each season, and each of those games will get Knicks fans on their feet. That’s just what happens when it’s a Brooklyn game day.

The two teams will play at MSG twice, on Feb. 13 and again on Mar. 1. They’ll play at Brooklyn one more time earlier in the season.

The NBA wanted to draw special attention to this one, adding it to the slate of ‘NBA Rivals Week,’ where some of the Association’s best rivalries will take place on the week of Jan. 23.

The game is set for Jan. 28 at 5:30 p.m. on ABC and is certainly a headliner, given how much more these franchises hate each other since the Nets moved across the Hudson from Jersey to New York.

Of course, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving and all the hoopla around those two superstars this summer gave Knicks fans a bit of an edge. After all, for the most part, New York’s players and fans are happy with their squad.

It’ll also be interesting to see where these two teams sit at this point in the season. It’s New York’s 51st game of the season, so by then, we should have a pretty good idea of where each team sits in the Eastern Conference tiers. I’d bet that it’ll be a pretty important game for the standings, especially depending on if New York lands a certain superstar by then.

Plus, why wouldn’t Knicks fans want to take over the Barclays Center?
