10. New York Knicks vs Detroit Pistons (Oct. 21)

The Knicks welcome the Pistons to Madison Square Garden for New York’s home opener on Oct. 21.

Last season, New York took down the Boston Celtics in a 2OT thriller to start its 2021-22 campaign. I was there, and I can tell you, it was one of the wildest atmospheres I’ve ever experienced at The Garden.

I fully expect the same for this year’s home opener. It’s a rough six months with no Knicks basketball and with all of the storylines, it’s got the makings for one heck of a game.

The biggest thing to watch is Jalen Brunson’s first home game with his new squad. The former Mavericks star is back home and should be in for a very loud welcome.

How the fans receive Julius Randle will be intriguing to watch. Plus, the countdown to when RJ Barrett hits home court will finally be reset to zero days.

The Pistons might not be the biggest draw in the world, but that won’t matter. It’s going to be a sold-out game with an incredible environment. Even though I’d be fine if summer never ended, it’ll be okay once Oct. 21 rolls around.
