1. New York Knicks vs Philadelphia 76ers (Dec. 25)

It really does get old.

“The Knicks will never win a championship again.”

“New York overpaid for him.”

“James Dolan made a dumb trade.”

They, this, that. It gets old when people attack the Knicks, and when the NBA announced New York would host the Philadelphia 76ers on Christmas Day, NBA Twitter warriors blasted the league.

But when it comes down to it, the NBA on Christmas Day is a tradition. Sure, the Knicks may not be the NBA Finals contender you want to watch on Dec. 25, but they’re historic and kick off the slate against another franchise with a long history.

Instead of being disgusted by some more ‘worthy’ teams getting left off the slate, why not just appreciate it for what it is — two of the league’s oldest franchises playing on the holiday the NBA owns?

Plus, it’s really not as bad as people make it out to be. By this point, you’ve probably gotten the idea. The Knicks have a young and underdog core, a new star point guard, and to the dismay of some fans, a guy who can go off for 30 and 10 on any given night in Julius Randle.

Plus, for the fans who want to hate — here’s your chance. The NBA is quite literally gifting that opportunity to you on Christmas Day. It’s yours to unwrap!

And who knows… if Donovan Mitchell makes it to New York by this game, I think a lot of NBA fans may change their tune about this one.
