2. Immanuel Quickley

Immanuel Quickley is a player who has had his name thrown into a lot of potential Donovan Mitchell trades. However, if the Knicks were to pull off a Mitchell trade, I would rather see them trade other young players besides Quickley as I truly believe he has the highest potential out of anyone currently on the team besides RJ Barrett.

From a statistical standpoint, Quickley did not improve much last season. However, watching him play, especially towards the end of the season, showed just how much he improved as a playmaker and scorer.

Quickley made massive strides in 2021-22 as a playmaker, showing his potential to possibly move to point guard at some point in his career. This may not happen this season, as the Knicks have both Jalen Brunson and Derrick Rose to play the point.

Regardless, we know what Quickley is capable of when given the proper minutes. If Tom Thibodeau notices this the way the fans do, then surely Quickley will be due to see an increase in minutes this season.

I have always been a fan of Quickley’s game and if he can just work out the couple of inconsistencies in his game, then I have no doubt he could be a future star in this league. It is just a matter of IF he can make the jump I think that he is capable of.
