Derrick Rose’s 2K Rating: 79 Overall

Derrick Rose rode the bench for the majority of the year due to injury, which will definitely impact his rating within the game. He may not be what he once was for the Knicks during the 2020-21 season, but he still deserves some respect as a veteran.

In the 26 games he played this past season, Rose averaged 12.0 points, 4.0 assists, and 3.0 rebounds in a sixth-man type role before going down with an ankle injury.

It’s currently unknown what Rose will provide this season for the Knicks considering the influx of young players, but if 2K were to put Rose at either a 78 or a 79, it would seem right because his floor is currently unknown.

While he could underperform next season, there is still hope that he can be a shell of his former self for the Orange and Blue.

Evan Fournier’s 2K Rating: 79 Overall

Trying to project Evan Fournier’s overall isn’t the easiest thing in the world since he had a productive season on the offensive end, despite criticism from fans and the media.

It’s hard to forget that in just his first season, Fournier broke the Knicks’ franchise record for most threes in a season. He scored 14.1 points per game on a near 39% clip from behind the three-point arc, doing a majority of his damage from distance this past campaign.

If anything at all, the Frenchman’s three-point rating should be more respected than his overall rating since he shot the lights out last season.

I can imagine Fournier at a 79 but if 2K were to rank him anywhere between a 77-80, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Immanuel Quickley’s 2K Rating: 79 Overall

After a great first season in New York, Immanuel Quickley was supposed to get an increase in minutes, which would have boosted his 2K rating.

Unfortunately, that’s not how it ended up, but Quickley still remains a valuable asset on this Knicks squad with the ability to shake a player off the dribble and knock down the three-ball.

At one point, Quickley was an 80 overall, playing very good basketball for the club. After a small sample size of what he is capable of at the end of this past season (which included a 30-point triple-double), Quickley is ready to shine once again at the Garden as another high-energy player off the bench.

I believe a 79 overall is a fair rating since he’s proven his worth in the league thus far and has a whole lot of room to improve.

Obi Toppin’s 2K Rating: 78 Overall

Another high-energy guy for the Knicks, Obi Toppin is unfortunately in the shadow of Julius Randle, as he sees minimal playing time with Randle spending a majority of the game at the power forward position.

Like Quickley, Toppin had the chance to show the Knicks what he’s capable of at the end of 2021-22. Given the opportunity, Toppin excelled, most notably scoring 42 points in a home win over the Toronto Raptors.

Having been a 77 overall last season, I believe that a 78 overall is fair for Toppin. Despite the minimal minutes, Toppin has shown lots of promise in just two seasons in the league.

Toppin will look to breakout this season, meaning his overall could be boosted should he be given the minutes.
