2. The Knicks’ lineup now has some clarity

Although the Knicks took a huge step back a year ago, it wasn’t due to their lack of talent, but rather that they had too many role players contributing at a high level and just couldn’t find the right combinations and rotations for success.

Now that the starting point guard spot has been definitively filled, as well as moving some veterans that would’ve potentially clogged the lineup, the Knicks will have two clear lineups as this team looks to bounce back from a disappointing 2021-22 campaign.

There will no doubt be competition for a few spots in the lineup, but as of right now, the Knicks are set at the 1, 3, 4, and 5, and have a fantastic bench, highlighted by Quickley, Toppin, Cam Reddish, Derrick Rose, and the newest addition to the squad, Isaiah Hartenstein.

Either way, it looks like this year’s squad will feature a blend of youth and experience, and will have a set lineup come opening night, without all of the questions that Coach Thibs faced heading into the season a year ago.

The Donovan Mitchell trade rumors certainly affect how the Knicks will start the 2022-23 campaign, but whether or not they bring in a career 24 PPG scorer, this lineup is deep and talented, and if they can play together and get rolling, just like 2020-21, this squad could set The Big Apple alight.
