4. Myles Turner

The Indiana Pacers star will become a free agent in 2023. After trading Malcolm Brogdon and picking up Daniel Theis from the Boston Celtics, it seems as if the Pacers are preparing for life after Turner.

Few players have been linked to the Knicks as much as Turner, who will only be 26-years-old next season. Although he plays the same position as Mitchell Robinson, New York could always opt to play Turner at the four or bring him off the bench. I think the first option would be the best.

Everything here really revolves around what style of play the Knicks want to adopt. It may seem foolish to have both Robinson and Turner on the same team, as it could clog up the frontcourt. However, ignoring someone who New York has pursued for a while is also foolish, which is why it needs to be talked about.

Turner’s impact on the defensive side has been second to none. He led the NBA in blocks per game in 2019 and 2021 and he averaged 2.8 last year. Turner hasn’t ever risen as a scorer, but the potential is there. He came into the league averaging 10.3 points per game and put up 12.9 last season.

He’s shown more offensive capabilities than Robinson, which would be one reason to pair the two together.

As I said before, this isn’t my favorite player who could potentially make their way to MSG, but it’s been brought up so many times in the past that it had to be mentioned.
