2: Is Mitchell Robinson going to re-sign with the Knicks?

The question that has been at the forefront of fans’ minds for months is finally going to be answered. Mitchell Robinson is set to become an unrestricted free agent.

But there’s good news. Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer had this to say in a piece that was published on Wednesday: “It’s believed Mitchell Robinson will return to New York on a four-year deal that nears $60 million in total earnings.” That might be more than what you were willing to see the Knicks pay to retain Robinson, but that number could change.

At least the strongest belief is that the 24-year-old is going to stay in New York. The rumor mill has been working overtime since the Knicks’ season ended on Apr. 10. There hasn’t been a strong reason to believe that he was going to re-sign with the team until recently.

As for now, you should expect to see the 2018 second-round draft pick remain in New York’s starting lineup. Robinson’s a player that the Knicks should keep. Upon entering the league, he wasn’t projected to be where he is now, so think about what four more years in New York would do for him and the team.
