3: Cam Reddish

If Cam Reddish’s time in New York came to an end this summer, the 22-year-old would have played in only 15 games as a Knick. The organization sent a first-round pick and Kevin Knox, the No. 9 overall pick in 2018, to the Atlanta Hawks for Reddish.

His year came to an end a month before the season ended with a shoulder injury. He’s since resumed basketball activities and could be on the cusp of having his best year in the league since he was drafted with the No. 10 pick in 2019.

Reddish is set to become a restricted free agent next summer, so even if he isn’t traded before then, he could be in search of a new team if New York doesn’t offer him an extension. If the front office has any doubts about him, it could be more of a motive for the Knicks to move him before next year.

And per Ian Begley, “Cam Reddish’s name has come up in conversation and would fit Detroit’s timeline.” So, if New York does move up to No. 5 in the draft, expect Reddish to be sent to Michigan as part of the process. He alone wouldn’t be enough to lure the Pistons away from being in the top five, though.

If the Knicks and Mitchell Robinson don’t agree to an extension, Detroit has been linked to the big man since the team has the cap space. Who knows, maybe both Reddish and Robinson will be suiting up for the Pistons in 2022-23.
