2022 NBA Mock Draft: What is going to happen on June 23?

Johnny Davis, like Keegan Murray, is another player I don’t love coming into the NBA. He had a great amount of success at Wisconsin scoring the ball and became lethal in the mid-range game.
Unfortunately for Davis, I just don’t see how his play will return value on a No. 8 selection. Coming off the bench, he could be great. He hustles, does the dirty work, and can score the rock when needed.
But with a top eight pick, you are hoping for a fringe All-Star caliber player, and I don’t personally see him ever coming close to that.
However, I do have the Pelicans taking him here, which would give the impressive young squad some more depth to go along with Brandon Ingram, Zion Williamson, and CJ McCollum.
The Spurs are practically gifted big man Jalen Duren here at No. 9. He is a very young and somewhat raw center who can easily excel in the right fit.
He is a great shot blocker and rebounder and finds himself in lob situations constantly on offense. His mid-range jump shot is there as well, making him an all-around NBA day one center. Pair him with star Dejounte Murray and you have an awesome young guard/center duo for years to come.
His potential is through the roof with his young age, but he has had some concerns with his motor and hustle at times. With a little development from one of the GOATs in Gregg Popovich, I think Duren could quickly become of the premier centers in the NBA.
