The New York Knicks recently landed the 11th overall draft pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, and while there are plenty of solid candidates to be drafted at that spot, the Knicks really need a difference-maker to join this young, talented lineup.

Unfortunately, the draft gods weren’t on New York’s side, as the team wasn’t able to move up into the top four to get a chance at Chet Holmgren, Jabari Smith Jr., or Paolo Banchero. Fortunately, the Knicks are blessed with a few moveable pieces and plenty of draft capital. On draft night, no one should be surprised if Leon Rose uses these assets to move up from where the team currently sits.

It’s become clear at this point that New York truly needs to build around its young core led by RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, Obi Toppin, and a host of other talented young players. Potentially moving away from Julius Randle to add another young piece to this core would be the right move to make.

While it’s unlikely that the Knicks will be able to move all the way up into the top three, there are teams ahead of them looking to make some serious moves, so who are they? And how possible is it that New York can make a deal on draft night?
