3 players that should move up Knicks’ leaderboard in 2022-23
The New York Knicks are one of the most historic NBA franchises. Since the team’s establishment in 1946, many great players have worn a New York uniform and cemented themselves as all-time Knicks.
Patrick Ewing leads the Knicks in most franchise categories and is arguably considered the best player to ever wear a New York uniform, despite not winning a championship. Right behind him is the great Walt Frazier.
Now, in 2022-23, Julius Randle, Immanuel Quickley, and Mitchell Robinson each have a chance to move up in these franchise categories.

3. Julius Randle: Triple-doubles and defensive rebounds
The Knicks have a lot of offseason decisions to make. They have to decide if they are going to trade Randle and make a decision on who they want to sign for the upcoming season.
Randle averaged 20.1 points a game in 2021-22, but he missed the end of the season, with his last game being on Mar. 30 against the Charlotte Hornets.
If New York decides to keep Randle for the 2022-23 season, he has a chance to move up to No. 3 on the all-time list in triple-doubles. He is tied with Mark Jackson at No. 4 with seven triple-doubles. He needs 9 more triple-doubles to tie Richie Guerin, who has 16, and 10 more to pass him.
Randle also has a chance to move up the leaderboard in defensive rebounds. He is currently at No. 8 with 1,701 defensive rebounds. He would need 346 defensive rebounds to move up to the No. 7 spot.
During 2020-21, Randle led the Knicks in triple-doubles with six. He was a first-time All-Star and won the Most Improved Player award. Although Randle’s performance took a dip in 2021-22, he still managed to average 9.9 rebounds and 5.1 assists to go along with his 20.1 points.
Next season, fans might get to see the Randle that led them to the NBA playoffs in 2021, and if so, there is no doubt that he will continue to move up the franchise leaderboard.
