New York Knicks fans are still waiting not so patiently to hear what Donovan Mitchell has planned in terms of his future. If he requests a trade from the Utah Jazz, it’s rumored that he’ll end up in his home state with the Knicks. Hopefully, Immanuel Quickley’s recruiting tactics are top-tier.

This past weekend, social media linked Mitchell and Quickley together in Connecticut. It appeared as if the two were part of some sort of marketing campaign, although the reasoning hasn’t been revealed.

What we do know is that the two spent time with one another and that’s all that matters. It isn’t a surprise that Mitchell is in the area because as mentioned, he’s from New York.

Did Immanuel Quickley spend time recruiting Knicks trade target Donovan Mitchell?

Quickley is full of personality on and off the court, so he likely got at least one witty remark off to Mitchell about him being connected to the Knicks.

But of course, for Mitchell to be traded to New York, the Knicks would have to be willing to give up quite a bit in return. Quickley could be one of the players who could end up being sent to the Jazz. He’s a young guard who has a bright future in the NBA, so Utah should be willing to accept him with open arms.

That’s the reality of the situation, but it’d be hard for fans to grasp that scenario. Quickley didn’t receive the amount of playing time that he deserved this past season and he proved that in his play at the end of the year.

Based on the rumors that have been going around, the New York front office seems to be poised for a shake-up during the offseason, whether that be bringing Jalen Brunson or Mitchell to the Knicks.

It’s important to not get too hopeful when it comes to New York, but if Mitchell wants to part ways with Utah, the signs seem to be pointing towards him being a Knick in 2022-23. If that’s something that he wants, the front office will likely do what they can to make it happen.

To be honest, New York would be lucky to keep RJ Barrett. Players like Mitchell don’t come at a cheap price, so enjoy Quickley while you still can. That is unless this trade never comes to fruition and Knicks fans are well aware of what that feels like.
