Most Knicks fans and analysts have their sights set on Donovan Mitchell this offseason, and while Spida would be a great addition, there’s a much better fit out in the Western Conference.

While rumors surrounding Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and his future haven’t been as public as Mitchell’s, he has just as much reason to want out from his current team.

Despite signing a massive five-year, $172 million contract, the Thunder have been very clear about their tanking intentions, so this move could help serve both teams. OKC could acquire Randle along with a plethora of future draft picks, and New York could gain the best starting point guard the team has had in decades.

The likelihood of this happening is a lot lower than Mitchell, but if the Knicks truly do want to build around Quickley, Toppin, and most importantly Barrett, SGA is the way to go.

Pass or pursue: In an ideal world, this is a trade New York would make very early on in the offseason, and while it’s unlikely, it’s the one the Knicks should pursue most.
