7: Collin Sexton

The Cleveland Cavaliers had a great 2021-22 season, with emerging seasons from the likes of Evan Mobley and Darius Garland, and one player that may get lost in the shuffle because of it is Collin Sexton.

Sexton is someone the Knicks had their eyes on a year ago, and after Garland arrived as an All-Star, this would be a great move for New York.

The Cavaliers may not take on Randle and his contract, but if the Knicks were to go into 2022-23 with Sexton and Quickley in the backcourt, they’d be feeling very optimistic. His injury may give some cause for concern, but he’s set to be fully healthy and ready for next year, so that should be a non-factor in New York’s thinking.

Sexton attacks the rim and would work well under Tom Thibodeau, and if the Knicks were able to get him without giving up any major assets, it would be fantastic. With Sexton, Quickley, Grimes, Reddish, Barrett, and Toppin, this would give New York one of, if not the deepest core of young talent in the league.

Pass or pursue: If the price is right, Sexton may be the perfect fit for the Knicks at point guard to lead this young, promising team going forward.
