If you talk to Knicks fans, the most popular former player on the Mavericks is Theo Pinson, not Reggie Bullock. But there’s also Frank Ntilikina and Trey Burke.

However, Bullock is the only one who starts for Dallas. After helping lead New York to the playoffs in 2020-21, the forward signed a three-year, $30 million contract with the Mavericks in free agency.

In the 68 games that he played for Dallas during the regular season, he averaged 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists. He shot 40.1% from the field and 36% from beyond the arc.

Bullock’s averaging 9.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in the Mavericks’ 11 playoff games. He’s scored in double-digits in six games, with a playoff career-high 16 points (5-of-9) in Dallas’ 129-109 Game 2 loss against Phoenix on May 4.

Retrospectively, the Knicks shouldn’t have let Bullock get away in free agency last summer, especially when you look at the other signings that New York made.

The best and most complete season of his nine-year career happened with the Knicks last season. He averaged 10.9 points (the most outside of his final two years in Detroit) and shot a career-high 44.2% from the floor and 41% from the 3-point line in a career-high 65 games.

Out of the other four players on this list, Knicks fans should want Bullock to get a ring the most and for more than his contributions to New York last year. How much fun would it be to get to see Pinson celebrate winning a championship? The NBA needs that.
