After losing a double-digit lead to the Nets on Wednesday night, the New York Knicks will look to bounce back against the Washington Wizards on Friday. The 35-45 Knicks are in 12th place in the East and the 35-45 Wizards are in 11th.

New York was up by as many as 21 points in the third quarter on Wednesday against Brooklyn but ended up losing 110-98. Alec Burks scored a team-high 24 points (7-of-14) and RJ Barrett had 23 (7-of-27). Rookie Jericho Sims recorded the first double-double of his career with 10 points (4-of-6) and 13 rebounds.

On the same night, Washington lost to Atlanta, 118-103. Kristaps Porzingis led the Wizards with 26 points (8-of-16) and 18 rebounds. Corey Kispert (5-of-11) and Daniel Gafford (5-of-6) both scored 12.

The Knicks are 1-1 against Washington this season. On Mar. 18, New York got the 100-97 win at Madison Square Garden. Julius Randle and Barrett both scored 18 points for the Knicks, while Kyle Kuzma and Porzingis finished with 18 for the Wizards.

With the same record, New York and Washington are currently tied for the 10th best lottery odds.

New York Knicks vs. Washington Wizards prediction

The end is near for both New York and Washington. Some may argue that it’d boost morale for the Knicks to win and then there are the fans that want New York to lose for a chance at a higher draft pick.

It appears that the Wizards are trying to opt for the higher pick because along with Kuzma (knee), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (rest) and Porzingis (right knee maintenance) are out for Washington.

Nonetheless, I believe that Washington’s going to find a way to get the win. Why? Because the Knicks are the Knicks.

We’re going with the Wizards +3.5 and under 223 points.

Washington 108, New York 104.
