After having two full days off, the New York Knicks will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday afternoon in Manhattan. The 34-43 Knicks are in 11th place in the East and the 42-35 Cavaliers are in seventh.

On Wednesday, New York snapped its four-game winning streak with a 125-114 loss to Charlotte. Evan Fournier led the Knicks with 30 points (10-of-16 from the field, 6-of-8 from the 3-point line), while RJ Barrett had 25 (9-of-17).

Cleveland got annihilated by Atlanta on Thursday night, 131-107. Cedi Osman scored a team-high 21 points (7-of-10) and added six rebounds and four assists. Darius Garland finished with 18 points (7-of-21) and eight assists.

While New York has six players of its own that won’t be available, the Cavaliers will be without key players in Evan Mobley (ankle), Jarrett Allen (finger), and Collin Sexton (knee), who’s out for the season.

Cleveland’s 2-0 against the Knicks this year, with the last matchup taking place on Jan. 25. The Cavaliers escaped with a narrow 95-83 win and Barrett had a game-high 24 points (9-of-16).

New York Knicks injury report

Julius Randle (quad), Miles McBride (knee), Quentin Grimes (knee), Derrick Rose (ankle), Cam Reddish (shoulder), Nerlens Noel (foot), and Kemba Walker (away from the team) will be out for the Knicks.

New York Knicks vs. Cleveland Cavaliers prediction

Given that New York’s officially out of the playoffs, it doesn’t make sense for Randle to play if his quad is truly been bothering him, so it’s for the best that he’s out.

In my opinion, it also boosts the Knicks’ chances of winning, given how Obi Toppin’s played recently.

The Cavaliers have struggled, losing five of their last six games. The pressure is on Cleveland, not New York, which is another reason why I think that Barrett and company will get the win.

We’re taking the Knicks + 1.5 and over 215.5 points.

New York 114, Cleveland 108.
