1 stud and 1 dud as Knicks snap four-game win streak against Hornets
By James Nolan
New York Knicks stud: Evan Fournier
Evan Fournier wasn’t expected to be available heading into the contest against Charlotte due to personal reasons, but was upgraded to available and was on fire during the game. Out of his total of 30 points, 27 of those came in the first three-quarters of play.
Tom Thibodeau didn’t put Fournier back in the game until late in the fourth quarter, which could’ve factored into why New York lost. When Fournier finds his groove, he’s one of the most dangerous shooters in the league. If he was given more time on the court at the end of the game, he most certainly could’ve helped the Knicks secure their fifth straight victory.
Evan Fournier put on a show from the 3-point line for the Knicks.
Fournier’s inconsistent, but he has the potential to go off any given night, as Wednesday was his tenth game this season scoring over 25 points.
It will be interesting to see what New York has planned for Fournier moving forward, as his name is circulating in offseason trade rumors already. He’s unquestionably an exciting player for New York and could be very valuable to this team in the future.
Honorable mentions: RJ Barrett (25 points) & Julius Randle (21 points)
