The New York Knicks are back in action on Monday night in the second half of a back-to-back against the Chicago Bulls. The 33-42 Knicks are in 11th place in the East and the 43-31 Bulls are fifth.

On Sunday, New York held off Detroit for a 104-102 win. RJ Barrett led the Knicks with 21 points (7-of-18) and nine rebounds, while Julius Randle had 20 (7-of-18) in his first game back after sitting out with right quad soreness.

Chicago beat Cleveland on Saturday, 98-94. All of the Bulls’ starting five scored in double-digits, but Zach LaVine led the way with 25 points (8-of-17). DeMar DeRozan had 20 (8-of-17).

New York’s lost to Chicago twice this season, most recently on Dec. 2 in a 119-115 loss. Randle scored 30 points and Evan Fournier, Alec Burks, and Derrick Rose all had 16.

Will the Knicks be able to continue their hot streak to beat the Bulls for the first time this season?

New York Knicks vs. Chicago Bulls prediction

It may have taken New York a while to figure it out, and by a while I mean for the majority of the year, but the Knicks have won four games in a row. The Bulls were once upon a time the best team in the conference, but Chicago’s lost five of its last seven games.

Nonetheless, I think that the Bulls are going to win this one. Why? New York’s going to run out of steam sooner than Chicago due to having played yesterday. DeRozan’s the player that you want on your team if you’re down in the fourth quarter and given how the Knicks are known for collapsing late in the game, I’m going with the Bulls.

We’re taking the Bulls -3.5 and under 219.5 points.

Chicago 107, New York 101.
