The New York Knicks will face the Atlanta Hawks for the fourth time this season on Tuesday night. The 30-41 Knicks are in 12th place in the East and the 35-36 Hawks are in 10th.

On Sunday, New York snapped its two-game win streak with a 108-93 loss to Utah. RJ Barrett scored a team-high 24 points (8-of-20) and Evan Fournier shot 5-of-10 from the 3-point line for 17 points.

Atlanta lost to New Orleans, 117-112, on Sunday. Danilo Gallinari led the Hawks with 27 points (11-of-21), while Trae Young (5-of-14) and Bogdan Bogdanovic (8-of-18) both scored 21.

After falling to Atlanta in the first round of the playoffs last year, the Knicks have gone 3-0 against the Hawks this season. The most recent matchup took place on Jan. 15 when Barrett and Julius Randle combined for 50 points in a 117-108 win.

New York’s currently five games back from Atlanta and a play-in tournament spot with 11 games left to play in the regular season. The Knicks have a whopping 0.3% chance of making the playoffs.

New York Knicks vs. Atlanta Hawks prediction

Sure, if Atlanta wins, Young and company could all but confirm the fact that New York won’t be in the play-in. However, I think that the Knicks will bounce back from Sunday’s loss with a win on Tuesday.

Although the Hawks have averaged 118 points in their last five games, I’m going with the under since both teams are inconsistent on the offensive end. I expect it to be a close game with New York escaping its usual collapse and edging Atlanta (even without Randle).

We’re taking the Knicks +3 and under 227 points.

New York 113, Atlanta 110.
