Julius Randle’s consistency paid off for Knicks this week
By John Azzato
Runner-up: Immanuel Quickley
Quickley has been a topic of conversation since he was drafted 25th Overall by the Knicks in the 2020 NBA Draft. He has such a natural shot form and the ability to hit shots from any distance.
Although it was a tight race between him and Barrett, the second-year point guard squeaked by to be named runner-up behind Randle.
The 22-year-old scored double-digits in three of the four games that New York played in this past week. His 21 and 27-point performances against the Clippers and Kings respectively were crucial to the Knicks’ three-game win streak.
Quickley’s known to be hot and cold in terms of his shooting. However, this week he was very efficient and was able to find good shots. The sharpshooter made 21 of his 41 attempts over the week, draining 9 of the 20 three-pointers he attempted.
He’s proven time and time again that he can drain a three-ball, but what was more impressive from him this week was his rebounding.
The guard grabbed at least six rebounds in every game this week. Quickley even secured a double-double by grabbing 10 boards to go along with his 21 points against the Clippers.
His production this week, both scoring and rebounding, is why he’s this week’s Daily Knicks Player of the Week Runner-Up.
There were more deserving options this week than there were last week, as usually is the case when New York starts winning games. Did we get it right Knicks fans? Let us know @DailyKnicksFS on Twitter.
