Another team that’s been rumored to have an interest in Robinson is Dallas. How many ex-Knicks can that team possibly acquire?

As long as the financial aspect of this deal makes sense, the logistics line up perfectly. In fact, the only real thing getting in the way of this deal happening this summer is Robinson and Brunson not making salaries close enough to one another. However, that’s for the die-hard cap nerds to figure out.

New York desperately needs a point guard and who better than one who has ties throughout the organization like Brunson? Especially since the Mavericks just traded for Spencer Dinwiddie.

They’re obviously gearing up for a reality in which Brunson leaves this summer, so why not swap one problem contract with another?

Dallas has been one of the better defensive teams in the league this year and yet the Mavericks rank in the bottom 10 when it comes to defensive rebounding and blocks. Who happens to be one of the better centers in the league in both categories?

As long as both teams can iron out the silly details that nobody really cares about, this is a match made in heaven for both squads. Even if the Knicks had to add in a second-round pick (or two), I’d do this in a heartbeat.
