Knicks rumors: B/R proposes Kemba Walker/Cam Reddish trade for former No. 1 draft pick
By Allen Settle
The disappointing 2022 New York Knicks’ campaign has left many fans already shifting their focus to the offseason. Despite earning a renewed sense of hope and expectations last season, the club’s postseason aspirations are on life-support as the franchise sits 12th in the Eastern Conference with a pitiful 27-38 record.
First-time All-Star and 2021 Most Improved Player recipient Julius Randle has gone from being the team’s franchise player to their most speculated outgoing trade piece. Likewise, Tom Thibodeau has transitioned from Coach of the Year candidate to the hot seat.
If Randle’s inability to recapture his 2021 form is the chief concern on New York’s season autopsy, the disappointing performance of former All-Star Kemba Walker is an obvious close second.
Just a few short months ago, Walker’s arrival in NYC was the source of excitement. The former Hornets’ superstar gave the franchise realistic expectations of having their first star point guard in years.
Now, Walker has been shut down for the remainder of the season as he tries to heal from knee injuries that have derailed a once-bright career. The added value of his then-expiring contract makes him a certain trade casualty at the end of the year.
Should the New York Knicks trade Kemba Walker and Cam Reddish for Markelle Fultz?
Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz recently wrote a piece where he proposed a Walker-Cam Reddish trade to the Magic in exchange for Markelle Fultz. Swartz speculated that the following deal would be beneficial for both sides.
